Fuel gauge

A 90° instrument for a corner of a dashboard: E to F, a red reserve and a needle, in a universe cut to the size of the dial.

How it's built

  • --o-range: 90deg; --o-from: 315deg on the .gravity-spot centers a quarter circle on the top. Every ring inherits it, so ticks, labels and the reserve line up.
  • The universe is 4:3 with .at-bottom. --o-force: 138cqw makes the reach larger than the box, so the 90° of dial that is used fills it, and a bottom margin keeps the hub inside.
  • fit-range puts the first and last tick, and E and F, on the two ends of the range: 17 minor and 5 major .vectors.
  • The reserve is one <o-arc value="12.5">: a value counts out of the ring's range, so it covers the first eighth of the 90°.
  • The pump, the readout and the needle sit on rings that set the range back to 360° from 0°, so angle-270 and angle-90 mean left and right of the hub, and the needle turns from -45deg (E) to 45deg (F).

For a temperature gauge, use C and H and put the red arc on the high end: give it --o-from: 33.75deg on its ring.
